You “practice” orthodontics

2015, Volumen 45, Número 2

It is said that you practice martial arts and you practice orthodontics because you never master either. For instance, the grandmaster of our system, Master Kanei Uechi, never liked to be called master, but simply preferred to be addressed as Uechi sensei, teacher. Every day is a learning experience and an opportunity to grow. There is a saying in martial arts practice, “Was it 20 years of training with learning and growth, or was it one year 20 times.” This paper offers examples of important lessons from almost 40 years of “practice”. The majority of this paper consists of case reports with interesting literature relating to the cases.  (Rev Esp Ortod. 2015;45(2):075-085)
