The purpose of the present study was to develop a normative cephalometric standards of our population from a wide enough random sample. Lateral cephalometric radiographs of a group of 366 schoolchildren between 7-15 years old have been studied. Seventeen cephalometric angular and lineal measurements from Steiner’s analysis were analyzed. Sexual dimorphism has been found for four lineal measurements that indicates the existence of a bigger mandibular size in males and a smaller lip prominence in females. The comparison of our results with of the author’s analysis and with of others studies, showed like the most peculiar characteristics of our population, a strong tenency to the vertical growing pattern and osseous class II, with less prominent chin.  (Rev Esp Ortod. 1999;29(1):032-042)
