This case report illustrates many of the points in the original article «Forty years in orthodontics and gnathology» (included in this issue). This is a 16 year old female patient, who suffered bilateral subcondylar fractures at the age of 11 due
to an accident. She is in good health and has no overt TMJ symptoms. The chief complaint was facial and dental aesthetics.
